    Hi,

I'm looking to buy an M1330 for my freshman year at college in the fall, and I just want to know all the different discounts I can get on this laptop before purchase. I already know of the 6% student discount I can get with the one- or two-year warranty (12% with the three- or four-year warranty), but are there any others?

    Thanks.

My college doesn't offer any discounts on PCs besides the 6% or 12% standard student discount, unfortunately.

    Anything else?

    Just need some clarification...

That's only if I buy the extended warranties and stuff, right?

Do you mean after I purchase the M1330, I get a $200 coupon? What good is that?

If anyone knows anything else about this, please help us out here.

    Thanks!

Alright, so here's what we have.

-The 3%, 7%, and 10% off DellCare discounts only apply if you, of course, get DellCare coverage. I don't want DellCare coverage, so I'd end up spending more money than I wanted to, even with the discounts.

-The $200 off coupon that is apparently sent to you when you register for Dell Unleashed/Dell University apparently only applies to Inspiron systems, so I can scratch that off the list.

-The "Sky Perks" 10% or 5% off discount is only for UK customers and doesn't work on the US store. Here are some links about this deal, in case anyone wants to know more about it:

    http://www.dell.co.uk/skyperks/
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=129595
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=137950

So that leaves me with, again, just the standard 6% or 12% student discount.

Can anyone come up with any others?

    Thanks!

    Let's see...

How was it sent to you? Did you only have to register for Dell Unleashed, or did you have to do something else in addition to registering?

    Thanks.

I just figured out that this $200 off coupon was only recently added, so since I created my account about two or three weeks ago, I don't get it. Damn, what can I do about this?

Hmmm I see the $200 coupon in my email but it says for Inspiron only.

Could the coupon for xps be the $100 coupon they give for people who sign up through the gift registry? I just signed up for the gift registry (dellunleashed.com) and got a $100 coupon emailed to me.

I got that $100 coupon, at least, but when you apply it, it only discounts $50.

Why can't Dell have a system that is actually efficient and, not only that, but works?!

I got two $200 coupons emailed to me (one from a few days ago and one from 5 mins ago) and they both say for inspirons only.

When I apply the $100 off coupon, it only takes off 50 bucks too. Would customer service fix that? Should we call them and check if that's an error?

I might call tomorrow or something. I'll try to get the $100 off, and maybe even try to get the $200 off "for Inspirons only" one...

    Hi Folks,

Do the $200 or $100 discounts you got have an expiration date? I'm not in a great hurry to get an m1330 right now but want to get the coupons now but it wouldn't be any good if they expire quikcly.

    Thank you,
    Robert

    $100 one:
**Coupon offer valid 06/04/07 10am CT - 08/03/07 11:59pm CT. Offer valid on
Inspiron, XPS and Latitude systems. Coupon not combinable with other coupons. Coupon
is not combinable with Dell Home and Home Office instant dollars off, percent off,
or mail-in rebates. One coupon per customer. Coupon is for one-time use only.

    $200 one:
    *Offer valid 06/26/07 10am CT - 07/26/07 11:59pm CT. Coupon
is not combinable with other coupons. Coupon is not combinable
with Dell Home and Home Office instant dollars off, percent
off, or mail-in rebates. One coupon per customer. Coupon
    is for one-time use only.

Although looks like the $200 clearly says for inspirons only.
Plus, the $100 is only taking off $50.

Where can one find a dell university site for Canada? My college is pushing the latitude's right now but I'd much rather get the XPS for the keyboard and screen!

Sure, but how? I'd love to get that discount since dell took the m1330 out of the mystery deal lineup. Was that deal from the US? I'm really interested in getting ANY discount on it in Canada.

I've figured out what's going on.

I think they've changed the $50 coupons to $100 coupons, and the $200 is now $250. The old codes, however, still redeem for $50/200.

Here's how to get the newer coupons: sign up for the gift registry on the site (the e-mail you get with your original coupon has a sign-up link). After you register, you can go to the 'Manage Your Gift Registry' page and there are two buttons on there - one for the $100 coupon and one for the $250. Click on each of them and you'll get an e-mail with both a $100 and $250 coupon.

I have checked and the two codes they gave me are both different than the first codes I received, and they also do show the correct amounts in the shopping cart.
