I have the option of extending my warranty for 2 more years for $316 dollars. Should I do that before having my computer replaced as I imagine the price would go up?

well the problem with that is that if your computer is repairable, they are going to repair it, not replace it. Also im not quite sure what their policy is on accidental breakage. I, and most other people with replacements, got a xps 16 from the m1530 because of the mobo malfunctioning repeatedly. How much time do you have left on your warranty?

^^Not true. Depends on how much damage was done to his 1530 with the fall it took. And, since the 1530 is no longer sold, if they decide not to repair ~ they may just replace with something comparable/spec wise. Which, would be the XPS 16xx.

OP needs to get in touch with Support and advise that on what has happened with his lappy.

OP, is your lappy non working, now? Is the damage pretty extreme?

    Cin,

Fell down a HUGE escalator. Tore the screen portion right off. Bottom part is badly warped. Hard drive isn't functioning...

I have a solid feeling they are going to replace. I want to extend my warranty, but an unsure if it would be cheaper to do it before or after getting it replaced.

So guys, I am trying to figure out if I should extend my warranty for another 2 years before or after having my computer replaced. Now it is $316. I'm not sure if it will go up or down after having it replaced. My gut is telling me that they would try to jack the price up, but I am not sure. What do you guys think.

The Alienware M15x is offered occasionally as well. But it's usually the 16xx series.
