Just kind of curious what people are using their xps 1340's for.
video editing, photo shop? just surfing the web, movies?
Anything specific that you find this laptop good for?
    Feel free to share..

    Errm, general computing needs?

Surfing the web, some image-editing (more GIMP than Photoshop), movies, scripting, etc.

School and on-the-go photo editing. Shot 9000 photos at Petit Le Mans two weekends ago and the 1340 made quick work of sorting/tagging/editing them.

Virtualization, hence the need for 8GB of RAM. I run several VMs at once. After that, I watch videos that I rip from Blu-rays on another systems and do some gaming.

Some lighter gaming, school work, and I use it a ton at work, the 13'' makes it easy to carry around with you. Also the occasional tv show / movie, need to say I was worried about getting a dell, but I have been nothing but happy with this laptop

Yeah TF2 plays great, I play BF2 and a mod for it Project Reality and fairly high settings and it runs smoothly. MMO's work well on it, WoW, Aion, etc... I've played company of heros on it, and where it is playable, only at lower settings sadly... (this is with the 9400 card)

Lol what are you serious? I mean I tried download bluetoth drivers from dell just to see but it never worked. Maybe u just got lucky, you know dell rarely makes mistakes and puts different hardware inside. like xps16 owners who ordered regular low end resolution received 1080p resolution lol....
Can you just check by removing the bottom panel? you'll see how many cards you have there. one is wifi and if you have bluetooth youll see another on also

Is there a way that you think would work without having to open the bottom panel? Its just I have opened it so many times that my screws are starting to loose thread. do u have the same setup as me? 500gb 7200rpm 2.4ghz 4gb ram 9400mg ?

that lil cloth pocket? dont waste your money on that. However your system should of came with it. I mean I bought mine from BB and it came with it.
So if you dont have it dont worry its useless!
If it was a thin leather case that would of been great

Use mine pretty exclusively for school. At school I don't use it much, occasional thing just to kill time between classes. I use it to work away from my desktop where I'm far too distracted to type papers most of the time.

It does run Aion and WoW just fine, as long as you don't crank the settings up. (had to try them out on the laptop :p )

I use mine as a main computer. Web surfing, movies, music, some light game play like Team Fortress 2.
