    I find my 435m is pretty comparable to my 8800GTS. Full benchmark info is available here which you can easily compare to desktop card performance

    the 420M is an underclocked 420, so it is slower than the slowest 4xx generation desktop cards. It's roughly equivalent to the the desktop 220, or a bit faster than the desktop 8600GTS, though it's hard to make a direct comparison.
