This is a listing on craigslist:

This is a Dell XPS M1530 Laptop. It's only 5 months old. has lots of options:

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition,
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.00GHZ,
    3GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm,
    120G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive,
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video,
15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA TrueLife LCD with 2.0 MP Camera,
    8X DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive,
    Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card,
    Fingerprint reader,
56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion P Primary Battery,
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Additional Battery,
    Integrated High Definition Audio 2.0,
    HDMI output,
Dell Travel ExpressCard Remote Control, IR,

includes case. this is a $1500 laptop sacrificing for $1000. any questions fell free to contact me.

Do you guys think it is worth 950, he just lowered the price, or should I talk him down a little. I was looking at dell outlet and it seems to me like he is charging a little to much for a used product.

Is there any specific questions I shold ask him, or advise.

    Thanks

$1000 shipped? Looks like a pretty good deal to me, barring no scratches/dents of course.

Remember you get a full new year warranty with the outlet computer. It does have 2 batteries which is nice. I would try to get it around 900. How much is a comparable one in the outlet?

On the outlet it was about the same price, it is just this one is used.
I haven't seen it yet so I don't know the condition.

So you guys think 900 is fair

Yeah, i think about 900 is fair for both buyer and seller. Inquire how much warranty is left, and ask for the service tag and make sure it is not a stolen computer.

Right, those are good questions. I know the warrenty is the standard 1 year, so there is 7 months left on it. I do not know about the service tag. What is a sevice tag? And what does it look like?

    Thankyou, +rep

Service tag should be under the notebook.. The deal isn't too bad with the extra battery.. but try looking at the outlet.. I know you can get a better one at the outlet for just a tad bit more.. Make sure you have a coupon though, if you get one from the outlet.

I got mine for about $1050+tax from the Outlet

Hmmm, personally I don't think the price is good. Outlet computers are normaly great and come as close to new as close to new could be. I got this config for $840.00

    T7250
2GB (you get get a 4GB kit for less then $70.00 these days, which is what I did)
    160GB HD
    WXGA
    8600M GT
    Etc......

You get the full one year warranty, no worries about warranty transfer, 21 day return policy.

And keep a eye out for a 15% coupon, could get a smoking deal.

I would offer the guy $750 at the most. Because this is my thought

    New>Outlet>Used

I do not think $900 looks like a good deal. It is used and only a few months of warranty left. I would recommend Dell Outlet.

I just purchased a Certified Refurbished XPS M1530 from Dell outlet today:

    Dell XPS M1530
    Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB, 3MB Cache)
    15.4" WUXGA+ LCD (1920x1200) & 2MP Camera
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT (GDDR3)
    160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card
    355 Bluetooth

$980 + tax&shipping.... system comes with 1 yr warranty. I also have 21 days to test the system. If I observe anything I do not like, I will just return it...
