i am going to receive the 70 dollar gift card from dell for my 4 year warranty and wanted to know if i should spend it on ExpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi® Xtreme Audio Sound Card. I hear it is useless unless you use headphone or separate stereo speakers. Am i correct? Would it help my sound quality if i just want to watch a dvd at home without headphones?

No, it does enhance audio quality even without headphone or stereo speakers, but I wouldnt say its significant enough to get with a 70 dollar gift card. There are many other better things that it could be used on such as a TV Tuner, case, etc.

its nice thing to have.

So...I you boy the Xpress Card...and install a good cheap sound system then you're going to have incredible sound.
Other thing that u can buy with that 70$ credit are speakers from Dell...I heard that they are bose. So it's a good to have. -
I bought one.. had some problems with it and ended up returning it. I'm pretty sure I was using it correctly though and I did not notice a big difference. Also didn't like how it wasn't flush with the notebook. Stuck out too much.
What exactly is a ExpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi® Xtreme Audio Sound Card?
