    First post

I know the montevina refresh is coming soon, so I'm hoping there's some good deals going on around now? I've been lurking, but I figured there'd be more chance of finding out if I signed up and asked you guys :) Ideally I'd like these specs, but i'm not sure how to get the best price (Coupons, calling dell instead of online?)

    2.4 Ghz CPU
    4 Gb RAM
    GeForce 8600M GT GPU
    1440 x 900 Display (No LED in UK yet :( )
    Edit: 320Gb 5400rpm Hard drive
    Intel Wireless N
    Bluetooth
    6-Cell battery
    Regular DVD drive
    No extras

Edit: Configuring from the 2nd highest system puts it at £653 with the current free shipping, cash off and 15% off coupon. Is there any way this spec could drop in price a little more as montevina gets closer, as it would be nice ;)

    Thanks in advance!

maybe less ram(buy ur own ram later from newegg, cheaper)
or try configuring from a higher system config, should be cheaper this way

I was thinking about 3gb, but dual channel might make a difference? People seem to have varying views on it. 4gb isn't too much less than the prices on the UK dell site as far as i've found? I guess I havn't really looked outside of crucial though, hehe.

I would configure from a higher one as there'd be free shipping too, but you lose hard drive options for some reason? I guess this would be helped by calling instead of using the online form?

    Thanks for your thoughts :)

(The Save £70, Get 15% off and free shipping all expire on the 11th)

Only: The LCD and Hard Drive options would be nice too, hehe :)

£653 is nice (With the higher base spec) But does anyone know of any other deals? If the 15% coupon is above normal, maybe it's looking too good not to get...

    Thanks for your responses :)

There's an XPS(UK) 15% off code effective until the 11th if you're ordering now and the total cost is £599+.

PM me if you're interested. I won't be using the one I have.

These codes are fairly recurrent for Inspiron & XPS purchases. However they are usually 10% not 15.

Hmm, I'll try to wait until the 10th I think. Anyone else have any thoughts? I think these might be as low as the prices go before montevina...

I ordered almost exactly the same as you yesterday

    I got the T9300 though.

Cost me £704 after all the discounts. The day before it would have cost over £850. I had been looking at them and when the code came up midday I ordered it within hours to make sure I would have pretty much the best bang for buck possible.

I know that I will inevitably be able to get a better deal in a few months but you could keep that up forever.

I got a good laptop for a good price so I am happy.

that will be £653 not including the VAT, thats the exact system I wanted and with the 17.5% vat totaled up to around £750 ! . It all looks so cheap until you reach the last stage where they add the VAT on. !!I was gutted when I found out ! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

It was £653 with VAT at the time :) 15% off coupon from dmxdimension.com

Keep checking on there for the codes, that's what finally made me order :)
