    What is the button on the 9 cell battery for? I pressed it by mistake.

    I am wondering what the button on the xps l502x is? what is it for? I press it by mistake. When I press it there was a light on as well. Please let me know. Thank you

    It lets you check the battery's state of charge and health, depending on whether you hold it down or just press it. The lights will go out on their own with time.

    kind of a cool option if you ask me. Its nice when your laptop is off or in sleep mode or what ever to check the battery levels.

    just press it by mistake (didn't hold it) when I first got laptop and try to turn over to see the back. How to use the button again. I don't get it. if the battery is good, how will it show?

    If it has more than one light (5 as is the case on old macbooks) The number of lights lighting up indicates the powerlevel. In this case 5 lights lit up would mean full charge and 3 lights would mean 60% charge.
    If however you just have one ligh,t a green light would mean fully charged, amber half charged and red criticall batery levels. Simples :)
