Can someone confirm if the lightest is indeed 1.78kg (3.92lbs) with non-touch screen, 56WHr and PCIE SSD only? Weight is very important for me as there are lighter laptop such as Samsung Ativ Book 9 (1.55kg) and LG Gram 15 (1.39kg) both use i7-5500U and only available in Korea.

You are correct, those specs would be the lightest configuration.

Yes, that's the lightest configuration.
The other laptops you listed (Samsung Ativ 9, LG Gram 15) don't use discrete graphics. So a large part of the weight in the XPS 15 is the additional cooling for the nVidia 960M GPU.
If you don't care about gaming capability, and only want the thinnest-and-lighest laptop you can find, you might also want to look at the XPS 13. It's easily a top contender for the laptop-of-the-year for 2015.
Edit: The reason I recommend the XPS 13 is because of the battery life. A thin-and-light 14"-15" laptop like the LG Gram usually cuts down on its size/weight by also cutting down on its battery. Combine that with the fact that you have a larger screen to drive, and your battery life will suffer.Last edited: Nov 14, 2015
