I've had issues with my graphics card for a while as it keeps on crashing when gaming. I've been really lazy about doing something about it since previous encounters with customer service sucked out my soul. With only 40 days left on my warentee, I need to get this straightened out as soon as possible.

I called them today and explained my issue. They made me do a diagnostic test ( from bios) and it came up with nothing. Then they tried to get me to do drivers/bios updates, and I explained I'm on the latest and have tried everything possible software wise. Then they put me on hold for like 20 min and then hung up.

I've got to go for the weekend, but hopefully someone with experience in getting a motherboard replacement will teach me the magic words to get over this mess.... Thanks in advance.

    Tell them the truth.

Let them go through their script, and give them the benefit of the doubt. You can always call back, and chances are you will get a different rep, you can also ask to escalate your case.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

@danp224 I know thats what I'll end up doing... its just that it takes so much out of me to keep from being frustrated while talking to them...

@Matix5 haha, yeah I'm on it right now, in fact I'm listed as a tester for it :D It actually helped a bit initially, but now it has gone back to crashing semifrequently :(

I know there are people out there who have gone through this; I'm hoping they can come and tell me, what was the thing that finally tipped the scale and caused dell to realize there is actually something wrong with the graphics card hardware...

So you are! :D - Pity that the lowered voltage did not work for you, although is sounded like it had some effect.

I would keep pushing to get you motherboard replaced - in fact you should just request for a replacement. Explain how you have tried all other options, they cannot say no really
