    OK, so I got my XPS 17 (l702x) and I ordered it with the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000 to save $$$ since I didn't have a use for Bluetooth.

I now have access to a Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN card also.

The Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000 is a half mini card while the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN is a Full size mini card.

The only difference I see is that the N 1000 supports WIDI and the 4965AGN doesn't.

Is there a reason to choose one over the other in your opinion?

    Any opinions would be appreciated.

The latter is 2x3 while the former is 1x2, so the 4965 should be able to sustain longer-ranges with the higher speeds for both transmitting and receiving. However, make sure the antenna cables can reach the full mini PCIe slot. They may only be long enough to reach the half-mini slot

Why not get like a 5300AGN, they aren't terribly expensive these days and Dell doesn't whitelist WLAN cards.

Good point on the antenna's reaching, I hadn't thought of that.
