    Hi, all -

I am a proud XPS m1330 owner, and I was recently offered another by a friend of mine for soopercheep (read, under $500). The reasons why aren't worth going into here, but it's all legit...let's just say I hope the poor guy is happy with his Mac.

The question for the noble folk at Notebook Review is...what would you do with a second m1330?

    Thanks,

    GRPCV

Speaking from experience......I'm much happier with my MacBook than my Dell. IMO, your friend is the smart one here! ;)

Oh what's that? After you install the NVidia KEXT files on the m1330, it doesn't shutdown or reboot properly?

Oh what's that? Sometimes you lose audio after a reboot (if you can that is)?

Oh what's that? Unless you have a Dell truemobile wireless card (Broadcom chipset) the Intel ones does not have working KEXT.

Sounds like a real powerful MacBook ever indeed!!

Next time, know what you're talking about before you make yourself look like a tool.

Here come the almighty Apple fan boys deriding the thread.

For the OP, ask yourself do you need a second laptop? I suppose you could have one acting as your desktop/home rig and then the other for mobile or around the house. If not I'd either buy it and sell it or help him sell it. I often find myself out numbered by my computers since I tend to impulse buy.

How is voicing an opinion thread jacking? I purchased my m1330 last August and recently switched to a MB. For myself, I much prefer the MacBook even though I spent many years calling Macs trash and referring to them as not being a real computer.

It's really ironic that you would make such a comment, especially since you yourself use a Mac (or so says your profile).

Because I didn't drink the Kool Aid when I purchased my Apple. It's a computer, not an extension to your male appendage. The OP asked what he should do with an extra laptop, not whether or not Apple is better than Dell.

XPS 1330: Solid-state drive available, higher specs available PERIOD, LED screen, easy gaming, nice professional look.

Macbook: Slow 5400RPM drive available only (yes I've owned one, yes it's slow IMO), low specs available, screen is so-so, gaming only in WINE or whatever w/ no dedicated graphics, looks plastic-like...

I've owned both, so I'm not a fan boy to either. Just my two cents. I like the MBP but they are too big for my taste.

You seem a little bitter. Perhaps you should have extended your appendage.

The OP should sell the second m1330. There, happy now? I suggested what he should do without saying whether Apple or Dell is better.

Reselling sounds like a good plan if you need some extra cash. A gift to someone close to you who needs a good machine is also a good idea. Personally, I think I'd use it to play with different Linux distros - if I could keep it away from my sons. LOL

I'm not bitter about anything. If I wanted to read Apple superiority comments I'd go to macrumors.

Evidently you are bitter because you're reading WAY too much into my comments. Nowhere have I declared Apple superior.

If you're referring to this comment....

I guess you're unfamiliar with what a tongue-in-cheek comment is.

Considering the dell costs about 50-60% less than macbook pro and if you configure yours right b4 ( that is include the dell wireless card, and the sigmatel audio beforehand) you order you will have a powerful macbook pro... I think you need to check out the forums at insanelymac.. ppl are actually getting better at the drivers-- doing a little research itll save you a lot of money and enable gaming with your new hackintosh and vistarded dual boot platform... When my m1530 arrives I plan to do the same thing--- it worked flawlessly with my alienware btw...

No reboot problems... even sleep works!

skills, you managed to start a thread which nearly turned into a mac vs dell war.
I would say sell it to me, but there's only one to go around.

I'm getting a dell, by the way, cos the macbook is way out of my price range. Bad luck, Maccy boys. They do rock though, even if I can't get one.
