So, I ordered my Studio XPS 1645 on May 17, and it is dated to June 3rd for arrival.

Does Dell usually take that long or it's over-estimation on their part?

Has anyone else received it during their system during this time?

BTW I live in Toronto, Canada and, as of today, May 25, the status says "In Production".

    Here are my specs..

    Black with leather
    720QM i7
    Blu-ray combo
    6GB RAM, 500GB 7200 rpm
15.6" WLED 1080p (apparently edge-to-edge according to them)
    everything else standard...

Couldn't get them to send 130W instead of 90W...
Been reading a lot about heating issues... hopefully they fixed it...

Should I know about anything else?

Appreciate you guys helping me out.

I got my M1530 before the estimated date but it all just depends. Also, once you receive the system you should try to get them to send you a 130W charger. I hear it makes a lot of difference.

Dell's estimated ship date is normally accurate unless they don't have certain parts, e.g. blu-ray drive that is in high demand, which will delay the order. sxps 1645 is shipped with 130w adapter now.

heating/throttle issues have been mostly address with the latest driver/bios. the i7 does run hotter than i5 but only under duress. i have mine on a cooler while playing games that max out on settings without any throttle issues.
