I have a M1730 and was looking for some drivers which I cant find out. My laptop is still in warranty so I talked with a representative. He/she found me the drivers and now I am being charged for that saying its dell on call service. I had a chat using Contact Technical Support and now I have a due.

You had a web chat or a telephone chat? Web chat service is totally free.
-
Did they say you would be charged? Did anything you clicked say it wasn't a free service? I'd give them a call.
-
Please look at your specs..and it will say exactly what the warranty is you have.
You should not be charged for this. And, I think that if you were...you would be able to get this reversed ~ if Dell wants to uphold *Good Customer Service*, they will do this.

if nothing else works.... and really nothing else works, then try EECB (get contact info for someone high up in the Dell food chain, then contact them explaining your story and why you should not be charged
Dell has a (software) Technical Assistant service (online and on the phone) that charges money...
my Dell Dimension Desktop had some problems between the default Dell Audio Driver and my Logitech WebCam Noise cancellation driver, which could cause BSODs randomly when the webcam is active... it's a documented issue on the web, and i told dell chat online (when i was getting them to replace my speakers which were faulty), but they say it's a software problem and reffered me to their service that cost money...
they should be saying that 'this service will cost money' when you start your conversation -
Tell them you can't use year+ old drivers with your software. If they dont want you calling, they should update the download page.

Ya, the drivers are preety old. Its like one year back. I did the normal technicall support chatting. One of the Indian guy said that he is unable to find the drivers so he is transferring me to another one. He did found some but it worth me money. Later, I was told that it is some kind of dell on call service if I am not wrong!!

Yep - Dell On Call is their service to deal with software issues - and you have to pay for it. Best thing to do is DIY (do it yourself). Google is your friend. Or you could check the linky in my signature for the current M1730 Vista drivers
It's up to date.

As far as drivers go, you shoulnd't need to chat with dell to find them, just goto support.dell.com and find the drivers for your system there.
If its for something that DIDN'T come initially with your 1730, then i can see why they transferred you to OnCall as its not covered under warranty.
Either way, google is your friend for finding drivers, shouldn't need to contact dell for that. -

I was asking for Win 7.
-
You completely missed my point.
The people on the Indian tech line are like robots, if they see something that doesn't matchup with what's on their screen, they can't use intuitive thought to figure out anything else to do except give you a automated answer. In this case, they saw Windows 7 and said "outside tech problem" and then sent you to Oncall. -

So am I bound to pay or dispute?
-
Maybe showing us a copy of what you were billed for will help, because I think a lot of us are confused as to how you even got to that point in the first place, or how you let Dell send you to their division that costs money....
