I'm considering a M1530, and I'm getting it refurbished if I do get one.

so I'm just wondering, how can you tell whether a laptop from the outlet website is LED/grainy/etc? It only shows the resolution type of the screen, nothing else.

    Help please?

An M1530 only has a 1440x900 LED while other resolutions will be LCD, i.e. 1280x800, 1680x1050 etc.. Then again they make 1440x900 LCD before too.

You can't actually tell if it's going to be grainy or not. I have the infamous Samsung screen every has been crying about being grainy, and it is not one bit grainy and is actually pretty good looking.

Also, if you do get a grainy screen for some reason please be smart enough not to blame Samsung but Dell for wanting that type of screen.

Samsung is one of the few LCD manufacturers and they make screens not only for Dell but for other companies which are known for high quality screens like Sony. So while many people blame Samsung, really they are only selling to Dell what Dell asks for in terms of specs and pricing...

if u want the led, the little popup window that shows the config for the unit will specifically say that it is an led. if it just says wxga+ it will not be the led.

This is correct. I have an outlet M1530 and it said LED in the description. They are rare to find on the outlet.
