Out of the blue today, I received a package from Dell with the accessory kit for my M1530.

I guess I had finally complained enough about not getting it, even though people that ordered it about the same time I did, got theirs.

My only question, is where on the unit can I store the remote. I previously had an HP system where it had an expansion slot on the side that fit the remote perfectly, but I can't remove the little panel on the side of the M1530. Is that where it is supposed to go? Is there a button to push to get that little placeholder out?

You push the place holder into the laptop and it releases it then it pops out.

I tried that. No matter how hard I push on it, the little bugger doesn't move.

I have also tried to pull it out, and nothing again. It is almost like something is blocking it.

it should be a firm push (spring loaded expresscard slot)...

if not, then something's stuck.... either warranty or open up the laptop (if you know what u'r doing) and see? u probably have to take off the keyboard/media_buttons_tray/palmrest/display_assembly to see the expresscard slot)

Had this problem once after a motherboard replacement, the remote would not eject from its slot.

    Luckily the tech. noticed it!

Basically the express card slot on the new motherboard had been slightly bent at one corner during transit, and this was stopping the remote from ejecting.

Luckily the express card is easily swapped from motherboard to motherboard so the tech. took the express card slot from my old motherboard and put it on the new one...

Call Dell and tell them about it. My guess is you will get a motherboard replacement.

    Hope this helps :D
