No, I did not buy a cable. I'd expect you could just reconnect the existing cable, did I miss something?

You may want to take a look at this:
    Dell L502X screen replacement www.LaptopScreen.com

EDIT: I've just been told* that different resolutions require a different cable, so whether you need a cable would depend on your current display. In my case, I'm just replacing a damaged V.7, so I can't really help you on the cable issue if you do need one.

    Yeah M_Bos, that's perfectly true.

I assumed wrongly that you are upgrading from an HD 1366X768 as I do. Thanks for helping.

If anyone is interested I've ordered This cable even though it says HD (following another source on the web).

Hey, any chance of still getting AUO B156HW01 V.4 anywhere? Everywhere I look, I find only compatible. I would require it in EU.

Hey all. Been following this thread for a bit and shopping around relentlessly to find this screen for my Lenovo T520. I finally found a seller who when contacted assured me that it wasn't a compatible screen.
Just got it today and installed it. It is indeed the actual screen (I cheered when I saw the sticker) and it looks BEAUTIFUL. Brand new, wonderful matte finish, crisp 1080p. Only one or two stuck pixels (blue) that are only noticable on a black background.
Bought from LCDTech889 on ebay, I HIGHLY recommend this source as it's the ONLY actual source of the panel I've found online. I hope this can help people like me in the future, and good luck to everyone!

I contacted an UK seller and asked if they sold the exact B156HW01 V4 they couldnt say, but they also said that upgrading a screen is not recommended because you might need to change cable, video card and even motherboard. Is this true or is it just a scare story? I thought there were two (LVDS) cables, 1 for up to HD, and 1 for HD+ and FHD, meaning if you have at least HD+ you can upgrade without any problems right? My laptop is a HP 8560w.

Beware of this seller (LCDTech889). Please note the current eBay listing is for a "compatible screen" - not an exact part. I purchased "Exact Part" from this seller, and after getting the first defective screen replaced, the replacement screen lists as B156HW01 v3 in HWiNFO; not v4. Both are 1080p screens however v4 has higher NITS and 95% GAMUT compared to 60% GAMUT for v3.
