I did a Google Images search for "Water Drop Splash" and found it in the first 50 or so hits, then did a search on TinEye for it ( TinEye Reverse Image Search) - very useful by the way. Judging from the fact that it seemed to crop up a lot in banners and logos, I guessed it was probably a stock image, and true enough, it's on iStockPhoto: water splash | Royalty Free Stock Photo Image | iStockphoto.com

I don't think you'd be able to find a wallpaper-resolution copy of the image for free, but if you really like it it's not too expensive. If you don't need a high-res copy, there's a 700x400 copy of it on white accessible here:

Wow! I didnt think it really existed. I wish i could get 1920x1080 though. That would look sick on my screen

Well you could just buy a higher res and crop it... if you buy the image and upload it I could attempt a crop to 1080p for you :)

Found both Dell wallpapers on istockphoto's. To buy both would cost it seems $100.

Seems a bit rough. All I want them for is as a wallpaper option.

Dell are tricky. Display this awesome wallpaper when you shop but when you purchase them, they are no where to be found.

Since we're talking about wallpaper, anyone cares to share their favorite sources for awesome, high-resolution, virus-free :p wallpaper? I like abstract art-type stuff the best.

I'm willing to pay a small fee (under $10 per set of images), but if you know of any free sources, it would be even better :)

4walled has some nice wallpapers, but careful what you search for, and what search parameters you use. there are many NSFW wallpapers available.

that site has a mish-mash of everything: some great, some absolutely demented, or altogether just plain horrible. so YMMV at that site.

If you have enough interest in that wallpaper, I am some what of a photographer, so I could take a very similar picture in what ever size is needed. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Are we talking the original splash picture that started this thread on the black back drop?

That pic was awesome and I think the resolution needed would be 1920 x 1080 but if too much trouble, I wouldn't worry about it. The wallpaper must be floating around somewhere.

yuley: That original splash picture is a stock image from iStockPhoto - see my earlier post (second post in this thread).

Yeah I saw that. And excellent find by the way. I also found the other Dell XPS wallpaper picture there as well (the pebbles floating in the water); which I also wouldn't mind having.

I would pay $10 for each; $50 each is a bit much however but can understand the reasoning should people begin using it elsewhere.

Still no luck either. Might have to contact the original photographer. 15 credits at $1.6 per credit seems again a bit pricey for something I only want as a computer wallpaper.

Don't have photoshop on this computer. Just fill the text with black and expand canvas to 1080p. Desaturate to balance. Takes 3 minutes to do.

You found it! Not a whiz at Photoshop but followed your instructions. The splash isn't as sharp as I would like it to be but way better than nothing.

Truth be told, I am just happy you found it.

Here you go, I did these in Photoshop. I don't have enough skills, the black and white version doesn't look quite that good.

I would be willing to bet that the picture of that notebook had the splash image superimposed and it was never an actual background image.

I'll second that - using the B&W now, adjusted image in PS to 1920x1200, disabled transparancy and went for a dark grey/black window colour - best look I've had yet - Thanks
