Basically, looking to purchase this laptop for a while now and I was certain to get 2.4ghz and 4gb ram when ordering my laptop. Obviously im getting the 8600gt ect as one of its main uses will be for gaming. Also school work will be done on it and web browsing and mass storage but what im wondering is....

"what benefits would I get from 2.4ghz and 4gb ram" over "2.0ghz and 2 or 4 gbs of ram"

Il be playing games like Crysis and other demanding games so will all this extra pwoer be needed or a waste of money.

Please could someone tell me what benefits I would get both when gaming and not gaming with this extra power and any other additional details you would likee to include to inform me on ?

    Kind regards Jack ! :)

CPU stressing applications such as games, video editing software, and other programs, will run faster, all the loading the computer has to do, it will do it faster
.4 GHz can mean quite a bit of performance boost specially when your gaming.

other applications such as browser, word, excel, will become snappy * snap * snap *

well, i , for example, got the 4 gigs of RAM because applications today are so demanding, and with the daily doze of vista using 500 mb of ram i thought "why not?"

also dont forget to read the tweaks and tricks guide to better performance found here : http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=166532

a computer is only as good as its software, you can have the best computer, but if your OS is a mess, it will turn to be unusable.

i would also recommend getting a car charger, or a 9 cell battery, those two will serve you well, but its also up to your budget, if you can afford it, go for it!
