So I want to install Linux for school purposes on my Dell Studio XPS 16. I have tried Ubuntu, but I found the battery life to be extremely bad (~ 1 hour under normal usage).

So for anyone who have tried and had better experiences with other Linux distros, which distro do you guys recommend I install?

    BTW, these are the specs:
    i7 720QM, 9-Cell, ATI 5730, 15.6" 1080p WLED.

    Thanks!

I've used both Fedora and OpenSUSE, both work great.

How were your experiences with battery life in general?

Honestly, not much, it's plugged in most of the time, but it doesn't drain the whole thing in under an hour, I can promise you that.
