A little dilemma, Dell made an error on my XPS M1330 config so they want to replace the system. My system is crimson red and now the only way you can get a crimson red system is the special edition "Dell Red" system which comes with a special edition of Vista Ultimate which is just exclusive wallpaper and dream scene nonsense stuff. I would be fine with this but there is one problem, it cannot be configured with a biometric fingerprint reader (can you believe it!) They tried to include it but no dice. Anyway my choice is to change to another color none of which I like or forego the fingerprint reader. So this system is a so called "special edition, comes with Vista Ultimate instead of home and an extra gig of memory than my config. for the same price.
Funny thing is the price of the "Red" system is much more than the deal but of all things to leave off the finger print reader. Truth is I have a Sony Vaio with the fingerprint reader and I have never used it but it's always nice to have.
Would you take this SE system or change color toget the finger print reader?

Take the 'Red'....great system with Vista Ult and the FPR is useless most of the time in any case.. Can you send me the specs or Dell link to that?

I would take the SE system as you are getting more memory and vista ulitmate for the same price, if you haven't used the fingerprint reader on your other notebook you probably won't use it on this one

I myself, truly enjoy the fingerprint reader. Upek makes good stuff.

If you really want the fingerprint reader, then keep the one that has it. Otherwise, if you don't really care, go for the one that has Vista Ultimate and another gig of memory.
