As above, ran a game (Crysis war head) and some other apps all at once to test my temps.
i8FANGUI says 57deg C
GPU-Z.0.4.3 says 79deg C
There's a fair bit of difference there, 22deg C to be exact... So just want to know which of the two is most likely to be accurate?

GPU-Z is usually correct so I'd trust that.
You can also try ThrottleStop for a second opinion.
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/3/3/1794507/ThrottleStop.zip
If you have an Nvidia GPU just add
GPU=1
to the ThrottleStop.ini file and if you have an ATI GPU, just add
GPU=2
to that file. I'm pretty sure it will agree with GPU-Z.
i8kFanGUI has not been updated since Feb. 2007 so I wouldn't be surprised if it is not reading newer GPUs or CPUs correctly. -
79 degrees under full load is pretty damn good, especially for a notebook gpu, no? Are you using the 4670 or 5730?
-
Sorry, it's a M1330
Thanks! -
unclewebb, I have downloaded throttlestop now, thanks
It does tally with GPU-Z.
Keep up the good work
Which temp should I believe?
