Either the standard HD+ WLED True-Life (1600x900) or the anti glare FHD (1920x1080). Cant afford the TL 3d screen. Will be using it with an i5-2430M.
Just wondering if the 1600x900 is really that bad after what I have heard, I'm not going to be using it for anything special and a glossy screen would be preferable over an anti glare but I'm not too bothered.
If there are any pics of these screens that could be posted, I would appreciate this very much.

Viewing angles are very bad, I have my XPS 17 one week and have ordered a 1920 x 1080 (B173HW01 V.4) of ebay for 200, I can not recommend the 1600 x 900 at all, colour and brightness are OK, viewing angles are totally unacceptable.
The 1600 x 900 that is fitted in mine is the AUO 139E -
After pics on other threads and seeing a couple of anti glare screens on a Samsung and a Macbook laptop in store I have decided to go with the 1080p AG

Wow, I did not know that the 1080p screens are ant-glare, so basically they are matted? I'd prefer this over the glossy ones. I've also heard that some people are complaining that texts being harder to read off the 1080 screens, or somehow they appear to be smaller in size, is this true?

+1 on the AG Screen. I've got one in my XPS and its just awesome. Viewing angles are a little narrow, but bu no means bad.

The 900p screen is junk and is the worst type of 17.3" screen available. Aside from the awful image quality, the resolution is in-general too low for a 17.3" screen because it makes things onscreen big and makes multitasking more difficult than it should be in a screen this large.

Get the 1080p screen. Things are not small on there. For me everything is just the right size.
By the way this is why I got the XPS over the Insperion. I was going to get the Insperion but all they offered were 900p screens.
Which xps 17 screen?
