Hello everyone! Finally after a long last, I got my XPS 1530! I spent countless hours on the web researching this notebook, looking at pics, reading reviews... I am not a big expert on laptops or computers in general, so I have done alot of research. I went from originally wanting to purchase Asus G1, then to Sony VAIO CR, then to Dell Inspiron, then to Toshiba Qosmio... I almost ordered the Qosmio but then in late november this hotness came out and blew me away!Anyway enough ramble, here are the pics! I dont know about you, but I think white is the hottest colour out of all three

As I mentioned in the title, there is a little problem... there always is... In the last two pictures as you can see, when I put my laptop on the desk, the front left corner lifts up about 2-3mm causing the laptop to wobble between the rear right and front left legs when I press on it... I inspected the notebook, the build seems very solid, nothing is loose or creaking... Any owners of XPS 1530 had that problem with their laptop? Or maybe anybody else with other laptops can give me a suggesting for what to do about it?? Thanks![]()

that sucks, i just got mine and it seems to have a dent at the top right of the touchpad. I didn't have time to even turn it on yet, but hopefully it will work. if not Dell should usually offer a 20 day return policy or something.
-
Dell do offer a 30 day return policy.
-
Nevermind the problem I think i fixed it. Apperently all I had to do is give it a good "twist" by pushing the front left corner down, rear left corner up, and vice versa on the other side. After a couple of trials I put it back on my desk and now its flush with the table. I just hope it doesnt twang itself back lol

Metamorphical Good computer user
Awesome pics, the white looks fabulous. Also the pictures with the cat are awesome. Your cat's like, "For me?"
-
Hehe the cat was very fond of smelling the manual which is great, finally some use for them
Then she had a good time playing with all the twisty wire things and all the plastic wrapping, and after that she decided to see what my dell headphones taste like...
-
Does the cat come standard with the white M1530? ;-)
-
Hopefully not. I've got a dog. XD
-
I had exact same issue on my m1330.
I "twisted" or "bent" the laptop that fixed it for a little while, but it always twisted back. I even loosen and tighten the screws.
I ended up returning it. -
i like the cat hahahaha.. hmmm seems like dell made or bent the chassis under it to make an unbalance on the legs.. u should open a thread and ask other XPS1530 owners
-
I so love the white color. First I waited for the White, then i waited for the LED. Unfortunately right before the LED came out, the White color dissapear.
I really hope the white comes back in so that I can pick up a White m1530 with a LED screen!

Is this still a persistent problem on the M1530's?
Or does it occur rarely? -
Haha! The cat is thinking "One thing that may actually prevent me from sleeping a full 23 hours..."
Great pictures, the white does look really nice and if that option had been offered I would have seriously considered it. -
i like the white cover. good luck with the laptop! congrats.
-
Great pictures man! Also, do you have the 9 cell battery, because I have heard that the case wobble was associated with the 9 cell battery.
In any case, I would ask Dell to send you a new replacement because honestly to me, nothing is more annoying than a wobbling keyboard. If the replacement has better build quality, keep it, if not, just send the replacement back. -
I can has M1530?
-
Older thread, but nice pics' anyways

I don't think you need to bend the chassis; the battery is likely at fault for the unevenness, not the chassis. I have 2 6 cell batteries for my M133O. On battery A, it is not even; on Battery B, it is fine.
Either way, it's not such a big deal to me, performance-wise, so I don't really bother with it. -
I hope when my XPS comes, it does not include a cat. I already have two.
