Why Does It Always Come Back To Sli!!!

Well, I figured out the problem with me m1730. whenevevr I enable sli with 8700 gts the media direct and the quickset button stop working. WHy is this ? Is there any fix?

 

huh? i know there are a lot of problems with sli cards, like split screens, lines, etc but none like this one, could be a driver issue with the media direct software or the bios ( because the bios controls the media direct button)

 

could you guys try to help me plz? when I disable sli everything works. When I enable it media direct and qucikset dont work? Why is this? TWeaks? Tips? Fixes?

 

hmm sorry, i wouldn't want to proceed to telling you something that im not sure about, because i don't have sli, and for a reason

as i said, it could be the video drivers, you could try different ones. are you using the default ones from dell?

i see you already made another thread about your problem, and i saw someone suggested you updated your bios, have you done that ?

also, have you tried re-installing media direct and quickset?

if you have, then thats where i stop writing cause my knowledge only goes so far with sli cards

 

ive tried reinstalling and how do I update ye old bIOs

 

okay i assume you have the xps m1730 right?

then go to http://support.dell.com/support/dow...-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=1&fileid=257826

and download the A09 bios, it should install and then you can reboot and see if it has been fixed.

updating the bios is probably the most simple thing to update, since its an .exe file that runs with a double click.

 

my bios is already that version I think I need to update the drivers?

 

(((((( SERIOUSLY GUYS SLI JUST MESSES EVERYTHING UP! Like I can run all my games perfectly diablo cryis U3.But *** soon as I enable sli and restart everything just does not work. Like when I double clcik on the game it will play but i Wont be able to see screen but it plays normally, I can hear the sound and such just not the actual screen. Same with quickst and media direct as soon as I turn on sli the media direct and quickset buttons will work but once again there is no screen. HOw can I fix these plz!!

 

sorry man, as far as my experience with sli goes, it does bring its problems, but painfully i dont reallly know how to fix them, might want to try on the m1730 owners lounge?

or search on other threads.
