    Hi,

Just wondering why they decided to put a bad face on a great body? And why they don't offer replacement screens.

This happened with the orignal M1330's. They had a chinese branded LED-LCD and a better version. Happened on the first batches of the aluminum Macbook (The 13 version right before they rebranded them the Macbook Pros). They'll probably realize its not that great and replace them on later revisions.

My M1330 had to get exchanged 3 times before I could get the nicer version of the LED-LCD.

Just got my replacement L401x for my M1330. Side by side.. man, I really miss my M1330.

I received a replacement M1330 after my M1330 died for the 10th time. I am still using it for work while the L401x sits at home. I just can't stare at the crappy L401x screen. It's sad how stupid Dell can be. And I don't think the burden should be placed on the customer to pay $90 and void the warranty when you make a LG panel replacement.

Actually it doesnt void your warranty, I checked with Dell. They just wont help you if you have any screen problems, but the LG has a warranty of its own so it shouldnt be a problem. The rest of the notebook will still be under warranty

Can we push to get a full refund? Just curious--If the replacement laptop doesn't fit our bill, doesn't perform the same as our previous (i.e heavier, lower quality screen, and whatever).

No. I still have my old sxps 16, it's sitting behind me on standby, and the hinge lights are throbbing at me. I'm about to turn it off because the room is dark and it's distracting.

Dell gives you about four weeks, give or take (never tested it, ahah), to return the faulty hardware, in four weeks the shipping label expires and they'll make off like sexy cat burglars with a handsome portion of your bank account.

The IT guy gave me a spare M1330 from the office.

Dell was initially insistent on offering the following options if I wanted a replacement due to the amount of fixes:

    1) Have a Dell guy come and replace the motherboard again.
    2) Send the broken M1330 in, wait 3-10 days for them to diagnose the components at a depot and make sure it is the same laptop they sold you, then wait 3-21 business days for a replacement.

Thanks to escalations, I was allowed to get a replacement computer. Unfortunately, the M1330 died a day after the motherboard was replaced. Thank god for the IT guy.
