When I was told I was getting a replacement computer, I specifically asked the customer service rep, if I could have an Intel card. I explained that I had had trouble with the Dell card and that it had to be replaced with an Intel one. The rep said I could only have the same exact configuration I had on my first computer.

So, now over a month later, Dell is still producing these flawed wireless cards. I'm having the same "sleep" issues I had with my other computer. Why would Dell continue to use a part that will ultimately require an in home service replacement?? Dumb!

Because those cards probably cost them a lot less, and most people won't complain. So in the end, they make money even having to repair the few people like you. It's always about the money man.

What are these sleep issues you are having? I have the Dell 1505 card and sometimes have connection issues. I initially had the Intel one but this replacement they gave me had one with a Dell card. I personally liked the Intel one much better because it connected like almost instantly to networks and had no problems with the connections either. They refuse to replace my Dell one with the Intel one however and I am not complaining too much because the replacement had a lot of other upgrades.

I know I'm not the only one to have had these problems. When I'd try to put the computer into sleep mode, it would restart itself. Sometimes I got a message on a black screen telling me that I didn't shut down my computer properly and did I want to go into safe mode. Then the same thing would happen over and over.

Never had the problem again once I had the Intel card installed.

nothing wrong with the Dell wireless card in my experience: good range and great speeds. The sleep issues for me were a function of the anti virus/spyware not playing nice with the M1530 -- once I stripped it out I've not had any sleep/shut down problems.
