    The wireless card is Intel© Centrino© Advanced-N 6230 & Bluetooth 3.0

But when I view the page it's taking many seconds to open the page while using my desktop (which is about 10 years old) it takes only a few seconds to open the same page. I mean it's not that slow but you can notice it's a much slower than open the webpage on my desktop.

This is my new laptop so I dont know if I have to set something to make the internet become faster. Please help. Thank you.

added: and it's just taking more than 20 seconds to post this thread. By using my desktop will take less than 6-7 seconds.

Do you have the latest Intel WLAN drivers? Alot of times Dell will ship the factory images with older drivers. Also did you try physically checking the WLAN antennae connections?

2- did you try physically checking the WLAN antennae connections?
I am really sorry. How to do it?

Tweak the power management settings and wireless card settings. It has been discussed quite a few times.

To do so, right click on the battery icon and go to power options.

For wireless card settings, go to device manager and open up network adapters, right click on 6230 and go to property, then advanced. Tweak them and use speedtest.net to see if it's making a change.

This is the latest 6230 driver for Windows 7 64 bit (I'm assuming that is the OS you are running on a L502x). Also you have to open up your laptop to physically check the connections. You can go to support.dell.com and punch in your Service Tag (found on the bottom of your laptop) and go to manuals to view the service manual and find out how to get to the WLAN card.

I am a bit confused here. The internet is very slow when it is unplugged. But it's normally fast when it's plugged. I don't think there is much to do. I think I have to set something so that the internet is fast when I use the laptop without plugging to the power socket. Can anyone please help how to set it. thank you so much again.

Probably a power setting with the WLAN card, check your settings.

Change 'wireless adapter setting'(in power options) to 'max performance' should fix it.

Thank you so much. I have set it and internet is fast as normal now when using battery. Just find out that we can set other options apart from the screen brightness in power option as well :)
