I just tried a vid chat with my friend and it seems very hard for him to hear me. Also, why do the effects for audio not work but the effects for video do?

i am not too sure about the effects for the sound but you might want to increase the volume on your mic.

    go to control panel
    select classic view
    select sound icon
    select recording tab
    highlight mic
    select properties
    select level tab
    increase level

if you mess with this a little more, you can change the level of the speakers as well.

Maybe it is a option within your chat client? They generally have a gain control for the mic as well.

unfortunately, putting it to 100%, the mic will pick up all the noises in the room.

    but it works
