I just looked in outlet, and I saw ~100 XPS 17 (L702X) and ~50 XPS 15 (L502x)! I know some people don't like it due to the USB 3 issue, but why is everyone returning their laptop?

Assuming thousands of these laptops being sold, a few hundred laptops in the Outlet are no big deal.

People return products for multiple reasons: didn't like the look/style once received, saw a better promotion and returned their first order, broken laptop was exchanged for a new one (the old one is repaired and sold in the Outlet),...

Watch out for the selffulfilling prophecy here! ;)

Wow, there's a deluge of used L502x and L702x. I have never seen such an abundant inventory of specific laptops at delloutlet before. I think they sold a lot of them during the last 6 weeks since they had a couple of 'deal' weekends. A lot of people must have been unhappy with something about them. Most likely the fan or the USB 3.0. Everything else is pretty good on them. I just ordered an external USB 3.0 enclosure. I hope mine works fine :)

    Because they aren't very good?

    They seem rampant with issues.

They maybe from demo units, or canceled orders. I have been waiting 6 weeks for a L702x that is suppose to ship this week.

In fact I was ready to buy one of these outlet L702x yesterday. But prior to the purchase I had chat with Dell to verify that I could still cancel the new one I had on order for so long ago. That is when they informed me it was in ship complete status and could not be canceled.

If you need a large laptop there are some good deals in the outlet with the 20% coupon. Otherwise the prices on new ones with long build times that are on sale or with coupon codes are better.

The new one I ordered came with a 2 year warranty opposed to the ones in the outlet and was the same prices a similar config as an outlet one with 20% coupon.

So if you need one fast the outlet with the 20% off coupon is the best option. If you have a few months to wait for one you might find a better deal on a new one :)
