Hello,
I am planning to buy a 500 GB (this model : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145257) for my Dell XPS m1530. I've read that these hard drives are a bit thicker than normal laptop hard drives and that it might not fit in all laptops. Is this the case for the m1530 ? My current hard drive is a Fujitsu 160GB 7200RPM model.
Thanks

it's 12.5mm compared to the 'regular' 9.5mm -
OK, I've done more research, it seems that there are two models for the Hitachi.
The one on newegg.ca is 5K500.B which has the standard 9.5 mm height.
The older Hitachi was 5K500 which has the larger 12.5 mm height.
This information can be checked on :

I've got the 'B' version and it fits correctly in my M1330. It is 9.5 mm.
Will 500GB fit in my XPS m1530
