Im buying a laptop, mainly for College work, but im a gamer myself, i dont like to play on laptops since i have a good desktop for that, and upgrade it when needed, but i do plan to do some ocasional gaming on it when bored and stuck somewhere, also i plan to use it as media center to like watch dvds, etc, you think i should go with 1530, or the 1330 will do all this for me while being a little more portable??
    thanks in advance.

1330 is definitely more portable and will get better battery life (not drastic, but some). The 8400 GS can play games ok, with settings on low - medium (at the most).

I didn't like watching movies on the 1330 - it was just too small for me.

Well they will both be alright for watching dvds and such, however the 1330 will offer better battery life with smaller screen, LED panel options, etc. This may be more important if you are using it primarily to take notes during consecutive lectures, but not if you have breaks in between or outlets nearby where you can be connected to a power source.

As for games it depends on what games you plan on playing and how comfortable you are with playing at lower settings and resolutions. I mean there are vids on youtube of people playing crysis on it with lowest settings and it seemed to run smooth enough.

The 1330 is definately more portable, and will allow you to get better battery life. True, watching a DVD on the 1330 might not be as comfortable as on the 1530, but the size and portability totally makes up for it in the end. And really, I doubt the screen size will be "to small".

I run crysis on low settings very well :p

Depends on what games you like to play, I play CoD4 on mine a lot for example, and it looks amazing and runs very smoothly.

I could neve ask a question on this forum similar to the op's and expect to gain any insight from it.

Your going to have people that own 1330's trying to get him to go that way. Then there are folks with 1530's trying to persuade the other way. No harm done, just thought it was kind of funny :)

COD4 runs great on every system! My brother has an old system I gave to him with a 6600GT and, with medium settings, it plays smooth.

Got to give props to infinity ward for creating a game that looks great and runs smooth on older hardware.....

wow, thanks a lot for all the quick replies, loving this forum (that was my first post :D). Well to give you some more feedback, yes i will be taking notes, but i can be plugged to the wall the whole time, so battery wont be a problem, and i checked that <1499 deal with the coupon, and loved it, so i think im gonna go that way, with a 2.2 160gb bluetooth 8600gt 2gb HD audio extra 9cell batt :D

    thanks guys
