    Hi Guys

Ditching the 400gb 5400rpm for this Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB 7200RPM SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD3200BEKT) I take it there is no reason why it would fit or work?

    Both 2.5 and both Sata....

    Many thanks

Yes, it works in the 1530. I have the 320 WD infact.

Great I saw no reason why it wouldn't work but just wanted to be sure before I spent some hard cash..

Did you notice any performance improvement?

You mean in terms of the rpm or just in general??

In any case, I am happy with the WD (320, 5400 rpm) and as I read here in NBR on hard disk guide' and information, the speed difference b/w a 7200 and a 5400 is not really that much since hard drive performance depends not just on the rpm but on many other factors.. But for me, everything has been fine and good.

Both really? I seem to get a fair amount of clicking from my current hard drive, as I have a 7200rpm in my work laptop and the performs very well, even though the other components are of a lower specification...

for sure I don't have / hear the clicking noise that many here report about... My hard drive is quiet enough (index off, superfetch on).. there is the typical hard drive noise / activity during startup and scan, but its not something unusual. For a sleek design like the m1530 I would assume we will hear the activity noise anyway. but again, its not unusual, for example, right now there is no noise that I hear.. no clicking or chatter or anything..
