It's still unclear to me whether they meant it's upgradeable or not. I spoke with one of their rep, but they had no idea. Ideally, I'd rather buy a pre-configured unit, than doing it myself. Any ideas?

You can upgrade by yourself. This kit of 2x16GB will be fine:

Turt, exactly how hard is it? Do you just install the RAM and turn on the laptop and voila? Is there a guide that I can read? I am not good at these things, that's why I wanted to buy a ready pre-configured version.

Seems to be relatively easy: just remove base cover (12 screws), disconnect battery and then you can swap the memory modules within seconds.
