    This RAM will work in the 1640. It may not be the same as what you already have, and it does not need to be.

    Hi,

    The Studio XPS 1640 was shipped with DDR3 1066 MHz SODIMMs; as mentioned, you may still install the DDR3 1333 MHz SODIMMs and it will work however, the performance will vary depending on the processor.
