OCZ PC3-10666 DDR3 1333 1X4GB LAPTOP 1.65v | Ebuyer.com
i have the basic £529 model with a 1080p screen.
It currently has 1 stick of 2gb in it.
does it matter than they dont match; manufacturer and size??

Note the timing on my current ram is 7-7-7-20 with a speed of 556.
The ram above is 1333MHz DDR3 CL 9-9-9-20
Could someome tell me of there is anythng better in th eu.k
btw my desktop has "dual channel" will this have it even tho the sticks are from diff manufacturers, -
Doesn't matter. Get any laptop DDR3 and it will work, albeit not in dual channel mode.
If you want dual channel mode you gotta get two identical sticks. -
That's not technically correct, you don't need identical sticks, they just have to be similar.
If you have 2GB of 1333MHz Corsair Ram and 2GB of 1066MHz Crucial ram it will be dual channel, but will default back to the lowest common denominator, i.e. you will have 4GB of 1066MHz RAM running in dual ch mode. -
Please, don't label your title 'urgent' when you're asking a question. If this really was urgent for you, you would have read around in the forum and gotten all of your answers.
That said, I would avoid that RAM. The JEDEC standard for DDR3 RAM is 1.5v, and that RAM is 1.65v, meaning that they had to overvolt it to make it stable at those speeds. That will reduce compatibility of the RAM with many laptops, as most laptops won't allow you to deviate from the JEDEC standards, and would probably downclock the RAM. According to the OCZ website, that particular RAM model is specifically designed to work with gaming laptops that have 'extreme edition' Intel CPUs, which you don't have.
What kind of CPU do you have? If you have a quad-core i7, then 1333 RAM will be fine for you. If you have a dual-core, then get something else. The memory controller in a dual-core Intel CPU is limited to 1066 speeds, and the 1333 ram would be a waste. Yes, it would still probably work, but it would be downclocked to 1066 speeds, and it would be cheaper and work better if you just got 1066.
Also, like the above posters said, you need to have 2 sticks with the same speed and timings, though they don't have to be the same brand. If you mix sticks with different speeds/timings, they will run at the speed of your slowest stick. If you run with just one stick then your RAM will only be half-speed, and your system will be quite slow. -
i have an i3
would this be better:
