I don't know how valid it is to compare two different systems with the windows experience score, but I got another system exchange from dell on my xps L501X and the WEI is different... by a lot!
Old: i5 M480, 4GB, nvidia GT 420M, gamaing graphics = 6.6
New: i7 Q740, 6GB, nvidia GT 435M, gaming graphics = 5.9
Now, the old processor was @ 2.67 and the new i7 one is at 1.73 (but apples and oranges I think since i5 vs i7, and the WEI went from 6.9 to 7.1), but AFAIK, even though the i5 uses integrated graphics for 2D and the WEI shows "Intel HD Graphics" on the i5 and the i7 shows "NVIDIA GeForce GT 435M" - the 420M should have been used for calculating the Gaming graphics score. Any reason why the WEI score would be so different?

Actually - something must be fishy - I'm using MSI Kombustor and the new laptop with the 435M is max temp to 102'C and score is 246, and the old laptop is max gpu temp of 65'C and score is 335. Something doesn't jive there.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
WEI is not a good way to benchmark your system. You can run it 5 times right after each other and it will spit out different sets of numbers everytime.
Perhaps your laptop has a faulty temperature probe? -

check to make sure ur video drivers are up to date.
or perhaps theres something wrong with the cooling and the 435m is downclocking to prevent overheating which leads to poor performance. -
I also ran MSI Kombustor - if that's reliable.... so it was not just comparing the WEI scores (results in my 2nd post). I'm running the Dell 'PC Checkup' now on the video card - and it's been running for 54:00 so far - it's on the Modulo X test - should that take so long to run?

Guess not - the overheating shutdown started right after the test and new mb installed seemed to fix it. Gotta love dell for sending a busted 'refurbished' computer to replace it with.
