    For dual booting...

Go to start menu, right click Comuter>Manage>Storage>Disk Management. Then, make a new partition. (first make one of your partitions smaller).

Then, put in the W7 disk, and choose to install it on that partition.
Thats it... When you turn on your comuter, you will get a menu of which OS to boot into. ;)

As for drivers, almost all of the Vista drivers, work in 7. :)

yeah pretty straightforward with windows 7, almost all driver install by default ( i have build 7000, whereas RC is build 7100) and no problem, its actually my only OS and it runs like a charm, vista drivers work without a problem.

as for performance, it goes half around the world before vista even gets a chance to put its pants on :D ( yeah, its fast )

I've it in a dual boot config. It's pretty, performance isn't bad either.
I'll probably swap over to it full time after my exams.

Using the RC (64-bit) as my main OS, no problems or driver problems.

Performance is on average a little better than Vista (almost the same), slower in some aspects and faster in others. Still has some major file-copying problems.

No problems with your usual software?

Whats your comparison in speed with XP sp3 ?

The only thing that doesnt work is Google Chrome, that ive seen.

Its the same as XP IMO. At least for me. And a little bit faster than vista. But Vista isnt that much slower than XP. ;)

Running dual boot Windows Vista + Windows 7 RC. Everything is working great so far, been on the RC for about a week now. In terms of speed, it seems pretty comparable to Vista for me, but both of them are very quick when you have 4 GB of RAM.

Chrome is working great for me. What exactly doesn't work for you?

so far, all my apps work 100% ( games, adobe apps, Steam, Firefox, Office, antivirus )

i have to say im surprised it so compatible, but then again, that was Microsoft's primary objective, "if it works in vista, it works in 7."

My guess would be there's system files at the end of that partition.
Resulting in you not being able to shrink it. Also you're going to have to delete one of your current partitons, the max no. of primarys is 4, and you have all four taken up.

Use the Perfect disk 10 pro trial to defrag using both defrag types and then use the boot defrag option. That worked for me.

you want to defrag C because that is the drive you are attempting to shrink. Only after you have done that do you deal with which partition to use. You can only have 4 partitions max on each drive so one of your partitions has to be for Win7. I suspect that the 2.5gb drive is the one with nothing on it. If it does something on it then just move it somewhere else.
