Will it be possible to install Windows XP onto a XPS 15 L502X (in a seperate partition)?

Has anyone done this, if so any problems (with drivers, recognising hardware, etc.)?

    Thanks. :)

Is there a reason why you can't run a virtual instance through Windows 7? I've used XP Mode and use VMWare workstation to run XP apps when I need to. I find it easier to do it this way, unless you have reasons why this can't be done.

Yeah, I have some old software that either won't run or will run badly using XP Mode or VMWare (especially on 64 bit Windows 7). The main culprits being my e-mail software that has almost 15 years worth of mail in it and many games. :(

^^ i registered here just to answer that.... well i successfully installed Winows Xp on it (dell xps l502x laptop) , but i can't seem to do anything on it; audio device(s), ethernet controller, network controller, PCI simple Communications Controller, SM Bus Controller, USB Controller, Video controller, etc, all require drivers, but i cant seem to find XP drivers for them anywhere. im still searching, but i dont think im getting anywhere so i might go back to windows 7 ( 64 bit) which it came with :/

Edit: nvm, the usb (dell xps l502x laptop) ports are working fine, so if you were to find xp drivers, you could install them via USB, but still yet to find drivers

I just got the xps l502x and tried to dual boot Win7(64bit) and XP Pro (32bit), using different partitions on the same HD. During XP install, I am getting the BSOD, with some error message that I never developed enough interest to write down.

THANK YOU for whoever suggested the VMWARE. DUH!!! I am going to try it RTFN (Right The F Now).

Man, you've gotta update your software man. Micorosoft's trying to let XP die right now.
