    Wireless faster than wired?

    My roommate gets approximately the same score on wired as wireless. Any ideas?

    My kid runs into the same issue at her university. Your wireless has a much larger 'pipe' or bandwidth and your school hasn't bothered to upgrade the wired LAN. I wouldn't be surprised if your LAN connection is bottlenecked to half-duplex 10Mbps(should be full 1Gbps connection)! ;)

    10/100 router connection? Shouldn't matter as SpeedTest is supposed to be MegaBit/second, but it's showing MegaBytes, and 9.5 MB/s is about the max you get out of a 100MBit connection.

    Again, likely NOT the issue. Interesting coincidence however.

    What's weird is I speedtested to another server on wired and got about twice the speeds I got on the previous wired test. Still not as fast as wireless, but odd...

    No, the results are all in megabits (Mb) NOT megabytes (MB).
