Is it worth the money to go for the 128gb SSD?

Is it better to get the cheapest hard drive and replace it with your own SSD?

    Thanks for opinions.

It really depends on how much it costs. If the price is right, I would get it from Dell, if not, I'd get it aftermarket.

The price right now is $125 extra on top of the 500gb SATA drive.

That's still about $225 (assuming you can get a 500GB drive for about $100 these days), and a pretty good value for a 128GB SSD. Most of the Indilinx drives, albeit a bit faster, run the same price for 64GB flavors. If you don't need the fastest SSD on the market, I don't think going with Dell's offering would be a bad choice.

Thank you Commander Wolf! I am leaning that way now. This computer is for my girlfriend. I always buy the best for myself so I would not be shopping at Dell if it was for me hehe no offense.

I want her to have a computer that will be fast and able to handle upcoming games notably StarCraft II and Diablo III. Mostly I want it to be able to easily run future software and hardware wise last a very long time.

For speed and longevity I think it is worth the money like you all have mentioned.
