Absolutely worth it, youll love the computer. But since you dont have a blu-ray drive, you might comsider getting the LED screen instead of the 1900x1200 one.. You won't be seeing much full-hd content anyways without a blu-ray drive, and the LED increases battery life and lasts longer.

I just ordered this last night. And I think you meant 7200rpm on the the 250 hd.
edit: Actually I see that you have the 2year warranty. This might have been a different package that I got.
I picked this option:
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=DYDWHF1&s=dhs
*The one with the 3year warranty
then I changed screen, processor, and harddrive to what you have and then added on a student discount 12% which brought my total to $1613 -
During a special Dell Deal I got the system in my profile for $1380, and it's quite similar to your configuration. You might want to look for a coupon code or wait for a special Dell deal days. These often happen on weekends or holidays. Maybe for July 4th they could have a special deal.

i paid 1660 after tax and shipping for my system and you can still get it i think.
t8300, 4gb ram, led lcd screen, 8600m gt, bluetooth, 4 year warranty, 4 year accidental damage, vista home premium, intel wireless n card, 320 gb 5400rpm hd, x-fi xtreme audio card, fingerprint reader, adobe photoshop and premiere elements, 3 years of mcaafee (not worth **** cuz mcafee sucks), 6 cell battery, dell all in one 948 printer with free black ink cartridge and usb cable, 70 dollar dell gift card.
but basically the laptop itself came out to abut 1450 with tax and shipping plus a 70 dollar dell giftcard -
If you're a student, go for the EPP discount. For $1567 I got:
T9300
4GB RAM
LED LCD 1440 x 900
8600m GT
Bluetooth
Wireless N
3-yr warranty w/ Accidental Damage & Lojack
250GB 5400rpm HD, blah blah. -
The problem is that in the configuration or package that I posted they don't give you a choice of screens which sucks. -
I'll play with all the other packages and see what they all add up to. I don't get why they change choices or don't give you a choice depending on the package. -
i just ordered one from the 4th of july special deal seemed really nice to me

Seems a bit high. Do you need it right away? Wait for a good coupon or promotion to come out.
-
No don't need right away. The price did seem like a bit much I wish there were some good coupons around but I guess I'll wait. I'd like to knock off a little from that price.
Worth the price ?
