I was reading this article ( Samsung Gets To Work On 8GB Laptop Memory Sticks - PCWorld) and I thought it was very interesting. My question is, would the XPS 15 be compatible with 16 GB of RAM? That would be 2 8GB sticks. Because if so, I'd like to definitely invest in that. What do you guys think?

The XPS 15's memory controller is not compatible with more than 8GB total (4GB + 4GB). Whether or not a software update would allow more ram is yet to be seen.
But seriously, what would you do with 16GB of ram on (this particular) laptop? It would probably cost more than the entire rest of the laptop. -
I have 8gb with several very demanding apps running concurrently and have never seen it go above 5gb.

Like gpig said, the memory controller is limited to 8GB. You'd have to wait for a Sandy Bridge version to use 16GB. 99.999% of people would never use that much memory on a multimedia laptop anyway.
Would 2 8GB memory sticks work on XPS 15?
