Would it be better to get a 1440x900 LED screen or a T9300 for M1530?

Which is preferred? Paying $125 to upgrade from a T8300 to T9300, or $150 to upgrade from a LCD 1440x900 to a LED 1440x900?

Personally I'd choose the LED upgrade.

I was in a similar situation with my m1330, I went for the T8300 & LED and have been very pleased with my decision. The CPU-upgrade would be rarely noticed, while you can see an feel the LED all the time. So I would also recommend LED-upgrade.

LED upgrade, CPU difference isn't substantial enough. Not really much difference between the two CPUs.

i'll just save my money. the performance difference between the two processor is around 7-10% because of the 100mhz and additional 3mb cache. LED is overrated and expensive. wait for the prices to go down in a year or so

Or why not jump over both and upgrade to the WUXGA display.

Because WXUGA is way too large for a 15". And prices always go down. It's not a matter of waiting.

The T9300 does perform decently better than the T8300, considering that in the T9300, you have double the cache, and 100Mhz.. But the LED isn't THAT much different than the regular CCFL Truelife either..

So dont talk about it isn't THAT much better, either upgrade isn't THAT much better.. I like my LED very much, and i like my T9300

Like Lefix, I love both too, though If I had to choose between one, I'd choose the T9300 just because there is a good performance increase involved as well as power saving.

The LED is a better choice if you value mobility more to give you more battery life and a better display, though it performancewise, your processor is what matters.

More cache is better, but at what cost ? I certainly don’t think its worth $125. That’s almost half the cost of a new mobile Chip!.

I’m not sure about the new T8000/T9000 series, but with the first gen Core 2 Duo T7000 series difference between 2MB and 4MB was around 3.5% (google for benchmarks).

Trust me the t9300 isn't noticeable in the least, (100mhz! difference) particularly in gaming, and most definitely does not justify a $125 price difference even if it has double the cache. Go with the LED, and yes when you see a LED side by side with a truelife, it becomes like night and day :D

I would go for the CPU upgrade because the difference between LED and CCFL was minimal when I saw it.

I'd go for the LED, the processor will make very little difference

I might get an LED upgrade, not sure if it's worth $150. Damn, I hate decisions that have an impact on the next 3-4 years.

How did you get your M1530 shipped for so cheap, Lefix? A similar setup now costs like $1400 before tax.

The Intel T8300 is the best deal the money. It's a solid 2.4Ghz 45nm Penyrn at a great price. I would not waste my money getting anything more.

As for the LED, I do not think it's worth the money either. You can get a full 1920x1200 screen for $50 less. If they had a 1680x1050 LED option it would be the best of both worlds: great resolution and LED :)

    1920x1200 on a 15" is completely ridiculous. I don't want a WUXGA.
