I am playing some music on Winamp off my USB external hard drive and getting these wierd "Write Protect Error" message everytime I click on the next track. I am using Windows Vista x64 Ultimate. Here is the error message on the lower right hand corner of my screen:

Any ideas what's going on?

check if the drive has a slide switch for write protection....if so unlock it

Nope no such thing. It's a Western Digital USB 160GB. This never happen before on any other computer I've used.

See if the drive passes a chkdsk.
I've had write protect errors on a desktop when the drive had developed bad sectors.
Write protect error keeps popping up?
