I know the XPS 12 doesn't have an active digitizer, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience using it with a capacitive stylus. My primary scenario would be to draw up simple network and dataflow diagrams in OneNote, do some ink mark up when reviewing docs in Office, and maybe occasionally hand write notes, also in OneNote. Obviously, an active digitizer would be better, but is the capacitive approach at least usable for these scenarios?

Yep. Take a look at this inking from a capacitive stylus on a Surface RT. Surface General Discussion Thread - Page 45 The only major issue is that you have to find some way to guard against smudges from your hand or palm. In the example above, the writer wears a glove. You can also simply write with your hand held in the air, but you will not be able to do that with long sentences.
