title says all, which bags fits best? i would prefer some memory effect bags for maximum safety or some nice leather with microfiber inlay. if the fit is not too tight maybe ms surface pro 3 bags might be an option?

I bought this sleeve on the Dell website when I ordered mine. Not really a bag though. It has magnetic closures, good for a backpack. This is their "Premier" line, and I think they have bags and other mobile equipment as well besides this sleeve. Might check it out.

I bought this sleeve (again, not a bag) for $13 on Amazon. Fits quite well and doesn't cost a fortune.

    Hi there,

I have kind of a similar question so I didn't wanna submit a new post. My question is: What size of a bag should I buy?

As you may know, the XPS is a 13.3 inch laptop in a 11 inch size. Can I just buy a generic bag that fits 11 inch laptops and use that for my XPS 13?

I'm currently looking at this bag
    http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...3013893&sr=8-1&keywords=11+inch+laptop+sleeve

It only costs 9 bucks and it looks nice, If any of you have any other suggestions, that'd be great aswell.

Really happy with my purchase so far. This laptop is marvelous

You need to find something that can hold a laptop that's 11.98" x 7.88" x 0.6". The one you linked to says it can hold 11.4" x 8.4" x 0.4". I don't think it'll fit. I've been looking for bags that hold 12" x 8" or so. I ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGTQECI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but I won't get it for another two weeks or so. Looking at Surface Pro 3 bags might be the way to go, but a number of ones that I've looked into are too small.

Yes it should work, my gf as a samsung 9 series 13.3 inches which is also quite narrow. She bought a case like this for 11.6 inch laptops and it fits perfectly. The dell should fit well in ones down to about 11 inches I believe.

I'm open to better suggestions. I think we're still a few months before cases start coming out that are targeted towards this laptop specifically.

I tried a few sleeves for MBA 11 inch, but it is a little too big and thick for the MBA 11. I have something nice coming in coupla days that was designed for this model (sleeve)

I'm also looking for a case/sleeve for a long time.

For now I'm trying to decide between those:

    * The amCase description says it will fit Asus C200 chromebook which is similar in size to the XPS 13, So it might be good. But I think it will fit very tight.

    http://www.amazon.com/11-6-inch-Chromebook-Notebook-Protective-Neoprene/dp/B00DUN2PBQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1423048245&sr=1-1&keywords=amcase 11

    http://www.amazon.com/Evecase-Chrom...e=UTF8&qid=1423011254&sr=1-1&keywords=evecase

    http://www.amazon.com/Evecase-11-6-...mebook/dp/B00INTBNVA/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

    http://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Protective-Carrying-Microsoft-generation/dp/B00P259LFS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423048256&sr=8-2&keywords=surface pro 3 sleeve

    Edit:

    Just found this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Evecase-Chrom...ective/dp/B00JXCX3DC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Which is similar to the Evecase from above but it's vertical, which will make me able to pull out the XPS from my backpack without having to completely extract the sleeve from my backpack which seems nice.

There seem to be a few Surface Pro 3 bags/cases that we could use but it seems to be hit & miss on how well fitted they'll be. Trying to find a messenger bag but they're all too small or way too big. Who would have thought having an awesomely small laptop would become an issue!

Not everyone wants to spend $50 just for a case that by the end of the day just sits inside a backpack or something.
    Just need that extra padding.

As for myself, I've ended up ordering this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Evecase-Chrom...ective/dp/B00JXCX3DC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

It should be just the right size (snug fit) for the new XPS 13.

I believe what I said was:
    Not:
I might humbly suggest you try re-reading the post next time before concluding that I insinuated it was the only reasonable option. Rather, I was merely providing another option based on my personal experience of what would make an excellent choice -- if one were so inclined as to spend $50 on a case.

WaterField is listing a sleeve sized for the XPS 13 (2015) - I'm still using the one I originally bought for my VAIO TR3 over a decade ago and hope it will fit the XPS 13 (will be close). This bag has backpacked around the world with me and even protected my Vaio TZ when a cab ran over it.

I'm sorry if it sounded like I was implying something of that nature.
I'm not a native English speaker so it might came out a little off.

What I've wanted to say regarding the Dell case, is that I think that the case is a little bit over priced, and for less money one can find better alternatives.

I really like this one. And to confirm you have used it with your XPS 13 (2015)? I am curious because the dimensions for length and height of the case are slightly smaller than the dimensions of the length and height for the laptop.

    Hi all !

I bought the amaxon basics sleeve 11.6", it's an (almost too) perfect fit. If you stretch the sleeve a bit it fits, but only if the back of the notebook is put in first. It's maybe 5mm too small to be perfect. $8.99 well spent nonetheless IMO.

Got my Dell Advantage gift card for purchasing the XPS 13 ($75). I was able to get the Dell Premium sleeve and the Dell Power Companion for $132 coupons and tax, so only ~$57 out of my own pocket for both accessories. Also got overnight shipping for free too, that was a nice surprise.

Reposting this from the owner's thread:

Just wanted to let you guys know I ordered this Surface pro 3 sleeve by Snugg from Amazon after looking at the dimensions of the XPS vs the Surface Pro 3. It fits! Its definitely an extremely 'snugg' fit but I'm hoping that it'll loosen up after use. You really have to shove it in there to get the magnetic flap to close, but other than that I haven't noticed any issues with it.

Interested in this bag. Do you have any pics of the laptop in the sleeve to show the fit? Is it easy to get in/out? Can it move around in the sleeve?

    Thanks,

Do you happen to have photos of your XPS in the premier sleeve? That was another one I was looking at, but for some reason the links to its product page are broken on the Canadian Dell storefront.

Doing some more research, I've also found a sleeve by booq that looks like it might be perfect, except I'm not 100% on the fit.

    http://www.amazon.com/Booq-Hardcase-11-Inch-Chromebook-VHCB11-BLR/dp/B00BXO6NS0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426285944&sr=8-1&keywords=booq viper 11

This sleeve has its internal dimensions listed at 300 × 205 × 27 mm, while the XPS is listed at 304.29 x 200.15 x 15.24 mm. It seems like it's just close enough to work, but I'm not sure. Does anyone else have any experience with this sleeve?

OK, here are the pictures of the Dell 12 inch sleeve:

As you can see, it's not a perfect fit. There is a little room lengthwise (about 2 cm), but quite a gap at the top, about (about 3 cm).

Quality wise, the sleeve is great. Good padding all around, and soft fleece-type material on the inside.

I just wish it would fit the XPS 13 better and it would have been a done deal. I'll have to decide if I keep it or get something else.

So I'm going to return my Dell 12 inch sleeve.

I ended up getting a STM Blazer 11 from my local store for AUD $39.

It's a very snug but still easy enough to slide in/out. The zipper goes half-way around so you can use it in both orientations. Has good cushioning all around so you can carry it around on its own if you like with either the nifty handle, or a detachable sholder strap.

Thanks for the update! The photos do a great job of showing how the notebook fits in relation to the sleeve. Something like that will be sufficient if you just want to protect your laptop while it's in a backpack/bag/suitcase.

Part of me really wants to take a chance on that booq bag, but I may end up waiting until we get more cases/sleeves designed specifically for this model.

Edit: that new one looks like a much better fit. Nice pick up!

Yeah seems most people miss that bit. For me having a sleeve that doesn't take up unnecessary space is very important. Otherwise you could have just gotten a "normal" 13' laptop with thick bezels.

Anyways, best of luck in finding a sleeve that suits your needs.

    Cheers

    Hi everyone !

I've ordered my XPS 13, but the official premium sleeve is sold out :(
I've searched for a third-party sleeve, and seeing that you guys managed to fit your XPS in Surface pro 3 sleeves, I wondered id this one may fit :
    http://www.sfbags.com/collections/s...o-3/products/outback-sleeve-for-surface-pro-3

I mailed the website to have their opinion, and here is their answer :

    " The SP3 dimensions are 11.5 x 7.93 x .36. which is slightly wider than the XPS13 at 11.98 x 7.88 x .33 - .60H.
We give our cases some wiggle room, but not too much—.48” might just be the limit. You are welcome to try our gear to see if it fits. Of course, you can return the gear if it doesn’t fit.
    "

This sleeve is quite expensive, so I'm still hesitating ......
What do you think guys ? Should I try this one ?

I guess it would depend on their return policy, although since these cases are made to order, I doubt you'd have the advantage of a free return. They do have a line specifically made for the XPS 13, although it definitely isn't as nice as the one you listed. I guess if you're really keen on the look of the Outback, you can weigh that against the cost it would take to ship it back if it doesn't fit.

I live in France actually, so I anticipate expensive costs to ship it back ...... That's why I'm so undecided ... :(

I wonder if a skilled tailor would be able to expand it a litlle if the fit is too tight ?
