Hi, how are you getting on with this. Did it loosen up? Think I'm gonna go for this

    Hi,

many thanks this thing is available in my country to. Can you please let me know if that´s an magnetic closure or just "flip over" ?

I guess i´ll order this thing. In general the Surface 3 Pro cases will almost match dimension of the XPS 13.

Any "hardcases" available for this thing (using such one for my TF701 and since 2 years now, looks like new).

I decided to go down the Surface Pro 3 bag route and got a CaseCrown Urbanite Messenger Bag - Link Here

The XPS fits in the main laptop section however it is very snug. It only arrived today so I'm hoping that after a few weeks it loosens off although if it doesn't it's hardly a deal breaker. It's the perfect size as it shows off the amazing job Dell did in putting a 13.3 inch screen in a shell this small.

Here are a couple of pics showing the bag and the XPS in it, I've put a side on view to show what it's like with some things in it. The bag currently has the charger, Logitech travel mouse, mini-display to hdmi adapter, 3.5mm audio cable, USBcable + plug adapter. Both the plugs are UK 3-pin so US plugs should fit in easily.

I decided to go for the Water Field custom-fit sleeve case. It's extremely well made and fits like a glove.
Only downside, the case cost £68, and then another £50 for delivery to UK from US, 20% VAT, and then import duty on top of that!

    Hi !

    Can I ask you a favor ?
I want to buy a sleeve from WaterField, but the one I want doesn't exist for The XPS 13.

I made some measurements to see if I can buy a sleeve for a MacBook, but the only info I still miss, is how much wiggle room WaterField usually leave in their sleeves.

Can you please check on yours, and estimate how many mm (both height and width) are left in your sleeve when your XPS is in it ?
It would be very appreciated :)

There's an extra 5mm on the width, and about an extra 3mm on the thickness (i.e. the thickest side of our XPS's).

Thanks for your quick reply !
And in height ? How many left before it interferes with the flap ?

I took a punt on a MBA 11" case having enough give to fit. Luckily it just does. This is the one I got:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dbramante1928-Leather-Case-inch-MacBook/dp/B00BKW5P5M

...being suede, it has a little give and the XPS is nicely protected from the metal zip. I'll throw up some pics later if I remember!

Also, this is a handy tool for comparing dimensions:

    http://socialcompare.com/en/tools/c...3-vs-surface-pro-3-vs-macbook-air-11-2qmv1whr (click the "stacked" checkbox)

...not as good as Sizeasy used to be but still...

There's an extra 10mm on height before the XPS would protrude from the edge of the case, i.e. the XPS sits 10mm inside the case.

I put the XPS in the case with 5mm sticking out and the flap still fastened, it didn't interfere at all. So you've potentially got an extra 15mm in total on height, but it would leave the corners a bit more exposed than usual.

    Hmmmm very interesting.....

Here are the data I grabbed from the internet :
    Dell XPS 13 : 15mm / 304mm / 200mm
    11.6'' MacBook Air : 17mm / 300mm / 192mm
    13.3'' MacBook Pro Retina : 18mm / 314mm / 219mm

If my intel are correct, I have 2 possible options :
Either I choose the 11.6'' MacBook Air, to have the snugglest fit, or I play it safe by choosing the 13.3'' version, knowing that I'll have some room to spare .....

I know it may sound picky to hesitate this much for a sleeve, but by my calculations, the sleeve itself (without VAT and shipping) will cost me 133$, so I'd better be sure before ordering ! And as I live in France, returning it if it doesn't fit will cost me some money :(

How did you find the evecase? Any chance of some pictures? I am trying to decide between a messenger case or something like this.

    Hi Workshop2,

I've got the Evecase (vertical) I think it's very good for the price.
The inner material is super soft and the sleeve itself is very protective.
The fit is PERFECT as can be seen in the picture below.

It's perfect now. Having the laptop in it has stretched the material just enough.
It's held snugly but can be pulled out/in with ease. Just the right size I'd say. Holds everything else I need as well.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I tried the Belkin 11" Sleeve and unfortunately it didn't fit. I thought it would be perfect based on the dimensions I read, but the problem is that the way the corners are rounded prevents you from sliding the notebook in all the way. If I really pushed it in, I could zip all but the last 3rd of the zipper, similar to the picture posted earlier of the 11" AmazonBasics sleeve (but a little more ill fitting).

Hi coolsbrah, did you buy the Amazon Basics sleeve for your XPS 13 (2015)? If so does it fit?
If not, what did you go for in the end?

By the way, I´ve also ordered the smugg bag from the SurfacePro3 for 29 bugs here which was discussed in this forum anywhere, matches really great. The original Dell cover is not available in my country atm (and also will cost twice i guess).

http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00M31BPOY (maybe interesting for EU customers)

It fits almost perfectly ( without any Logitech unified receiver USB plugged in, as this will not match). Fore sure its little tight, but i guess and hope it will fit better with the time. Its not when you put it in that you think you destroy the case, its just little pressure required. Hard to define i´m not native englisch speaking.

    Regards, aVa

Went the Dell Premier Sleeve (S) route. As expected; fits perfect, very well made, looks good, and doesn't alert the entire city when you open it.

    Not much else to say.

Do you know what the Dell Part and Manufacturer # is of your sleeve? On the Canadian Dell site, there are two Dell Premiere Sleeve (S) listings. One has a manufacturer # WNPMJ/dell # 460-BBQF and the other has 78Y8X/460-BBRZ.

I'm wondering if one of the models is made for older XPS 13s, because the latter listing is currently on sale ($39.99 from 59.99).

Thanks for the information! I just pulled the trigger on the premier sleeve. I still find it odd that there are two separate listings, but I noticed that the other listing just redirects you to the shop/accessories page rather than taking you do its product info when you try clicking through it.

Looks the "same," but at $14.95 I'd be suspicious. AFAIK Dell doesn't wholesale the sleeves to other sellers, and that price is a LOT cheaper than Dell sells it for.

I had some ebay bucks to spend so I figured why not try this one out. Don't get freaked that it is in Australian money or that it says international post. They have an American listing but it is more expensive. This one ships from Maryland anyway. I have been using it for a week now, traveled with it, and I love it. It STINKS when you first get it so it takes a few days to air out. Now it is fine. The case is a smidge too small for the XPS however it is neoprene so it stretches a little when you are zipping it up and the XPS fits without issue. I am very happy with my purchase.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/191348112232?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

The American listing if you really care and wan to spend more:

If you want the bag to be a little bit bigger you can go with this 13" one

That's the same one that I bought for my new XPS 13. It's a perfect fit.

I've had it for over a month now and it works well for me.

I'm surprised at the high quality of the bag for such a low price. I recommend it highly!

I contacted Dell and they confirmed that the sleeve from parts-people was genuine so I went ahead with the purchase. Just arrived today. It had a scratch code to prevent counterfeit items. Anyway, fits fine, love the magnetic clasp; finally some protection.

The fit is perfect, and the build quality is very good for the price.
On the downside, it's more of a travel bag, it's not the kind of light protection you use to bring your laptop for a meeting for example.
