    Hi,
Thought this would be the best place to ask for advice about this specific pc..?
Just about to upgrade from my XPS M1330...! So should be a breath of fresh air?
Couple of things bother me though..
Firstly i'm really quite shocked at win 10's incredible privacy policy, i.e there is non? Even turning cortana off, apparently it still reports back your computer usage...
So either i can follow an online guide to rectify this (do they really sort it out) or i need to use another OS.

I know this (skylake) is a really new machine, but:
Will my win 7 run on this without any issues or have Dell moved on?
Will Linux (never tried it before, but looks nice enough) work without issue?

Also is there any UK Dell discount codes or what-not floating about? Always helps :)

    Cheers!

P.s I'm most likely going for the i5 8gb ram 256gb ssd non touch version.

Don't worry too much about Windows 10 privacy stuff. It is actually blown way out of proportion

There are some guides online to turn off the specific "features" about Windows 10 that caused an uproar about privacy. Some people have even gone so far as to write little utilities or scripts to apply all of those modifications for you.

But the reality is that it doesn't really matter in this day and age. If you're connected to the internet and using "free' internet-based services, then anonymized data about your usage I'd already out there. Windows 10 isn't doing anything that isn't already being done with your current Windows 7 install as a method to use these " free" internet-based services.

If you have a philosophical objection to being tracked in this way, then there are steps you can take to minimize that.

But I'd you just want to know if the XPS 13 is a good laptop, and whether you need to worry about Windows 10, then I say just buy the laptop. It's a pretty good laptop.
