I recently 'chatted' with a Dell CSR to find out if the SD slot on the XP 13 (9343) supports the UHS-II bus interface. After a long pause, he came back with 'yes, it supports UHS', which really didn't answer the question, as there is a UHS-1 bus architecture. The difference is critical, as UHS-II is 3x times faster (or more) than UHS.-1.
As I don't fully trust his answer, and can't find the info anywhere else online, do any of you XPS 13 enthusiasts know the answer?

Look on ifixit for the teardown of this laptop. You'll find the exact part number used for the SD card reader.
Turns out to be a realtek chip, that looks like it was only used in some newer laptops and AIO computers. From there, search for the capabilities of that controller chip, to see if it supports uhs-2. -
hey the SD slot is in good speed. I'm using the Lexar 1000x 128GB SD card and it reach the 150MB read and 79MB write (Crystal DiskMark) as stated from some testing review. The card is UHS-II standard. I have try running the same benchmark with a Kingston USB3.0 card reader which compatible with UHS-II card, the speed is 15X MB read and 90MB write

Thanks David & Kent - I had an obstructed look at the innards of the SD reader on ifixit and it looks like it lacks the extra pins required for UHS II. Too bad - and I hope that I'm proven wrong!

Mine 9343 laptop came with Realtek RTS5249 Card Reader. This card is supposed to support the UHS-II iterface. However I am not sure if the driver available through Dell website (v.6.3.9600.21261) really supports the UHS-II mode. I do not have any SD card that supports this mode so I can't check it.

here is an impression for you showing the Lexar 1000x 128GB SDcard benchmark performance
while the same card (32GB version) review and benchmark in the following website, for you as a comparison
